Hi,

I am currently writing a mini ebook that is a 5 step course.

I was wondering if it would be better to offer it in pdf like an ebook or to send 5 emails (one each day) in order to stay in touch more often with the person?

I want to use this report as a marketing tool and people will have full resell right (they can give it away for free or sell it).

I think pdf would be useful if I want to advertise it in the various ebook directory but I don't know...

Any thoughts?

My main idea is not to sell the ebook. I want to offer it for free.

If I ask people for their email and name in order to receive the free ebook, it would do te same as if they have to subscibe for a 5 day course wouldn'it?

If they can't rebrand it, it becomes a good viral marketing tool I think... since I will have a few affiliate links in it.

The idea to sell a larger ebook later on is also a good idea though!

I'm not publishing tomorrow then... still need to think about all this!

Here's a few thoughts regarding the branding of pdfs (yes Mike, i heard the whisper of ebook and got excited!). First, rebrandable ebooks are a very good idea and i have been playing with them in two different cases. Now, i don't have any conversion figures but, if you like, i can probably get them one the one set-up.

The first one i've been branding (in both cases we decided a manual branding was best) is a sampler, teaser, whatever you want to call of the paid book. We simply took some content from the actual book, added plenty of "learn more' or "get it here" types of links. We then give each affiliate their own copy branded with their affiliate link. now, what is interesting is that the author creates special snurl links for the affiliates that has tracking in it - so he can see how it is converting.

The basic sampler is free to the affiliate with their links. We do offer a personalized first page - basically this is a page about the affilate with links to their site or whatever they want. We charge then for that and have had some interest in it.

The second case is a free give away - not an upsell or sampler. In it are a few links that we offer, for a very small fee, to rebrand (plus a little line - not page - with the person who is giving it away's name and site link). the thing is, we have set this so even if they pay for the rebranding, there is still a link to to the author. We also, for extra, offer a whole personalized page for it.

The point being is that there has been a lot of response for people wanting the books and some are even willing to pay for the rebranding.
